Governance

The nursery is registered with and regulated by the Charity Commission - Charity number 511144.

The governance and strategic direction of the nursery is managed by the committee who meet regularly. The Charity Trustees role is to be the 'guardians of purpose', making sure that all decisions put the needs of the beneficiaries first. They safeguard the charity's assets – both physical assets, including property, and intangible ones, such as its reputation.

Mike Price

The role of the Chair is to provide leadership and direction to the committee who are responsible for the overall governance and strategic direction of the charity. The chair works in partnership with the nursery manager in ensuring compliance with regulations and to ensure the objectives as defined in the governing document are realised.
Mike lives near Ovington with his wife who is a teacher, and their two children, Saffron and Alexander. He works at Northumbria University and has expertise in corporate governance, philanthropy, and social enterprise. In his spare time he enjoys cycling and playing tennis.
